Obituary For Danny Ray Crum
Danny Ray Crum, 63, of Hughesville, MO, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. He was born on September 26, 1959, in Sedalia, MO, the son of Billy Dean Crum, who preceded him in death, and Elizabeth Ann (Curtis) Crum, who resides in Sedalia.
On June 10, 1989, in Dresden, MO, he was united in marriage to Tammy Speaker, who resides in the home.
Danny was a 1978 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He worked for Pittsburg-Corning right out of high school until retiring in 2017. Danny enjoyed racing hobby stocks at the La Monte Speed Way. Danny was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed quail and pheasant hunting, fishing, and spending time at the family cabin on the lake. In his later years, he enjoyed reading and watching Kansas City Chiefs football. He was a member of the West Central Missouri Vintage Auto Club. He loved taking his 1971 Mustang to cruise nights, car shows, and driving in parades. Danny especially loved going to the beach in Florida with his family for their annual vacation.
In addition to his wife and mother, Danny is survived by two sisters, Sharon Jordan (Paul) of Cabot, AR, and Peggy Crum of Osage Beach, MO; a brother, Mike Crum (Rose) of Sublette, KS; father-in-law, Jack Speaker; mother-in-law, Carol Speaker both of Sedalia, MO; his sister-in-law, Angie Charles (Gary) of La Monte, MO; Daisy and Wally his fur babies; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Danny was preceded in death by a brother, David Crum, and Maggie, Joey, and Buddy, his fur babies.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Deb Galey officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Honorary bearers will be Scott Smith, Dennis Allen, Jimmy Harrison, Mark Harrison, Chris Hatfield, Mike Crum, and Gary Charles.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter or the West Central Missouri Vintage Auto Club in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
