Daniel James Forbes

Daniel James Forbes, 64, of Houstonia passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at his home in Houstonia, MO. He was born on December 6, 1954 in Sedalia, MO the son of Walker Wade and Theresa Marie (Harrison) Forbes, who preceded him in death.

Dan enjoyed fishing and spending time with all of his family and friends. He loved reading, watching westerns and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. Dan never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Survivors include his long time life partner, Linda Minkler; a son, Kevin Forbes (Donna) of Seattle, WA; two daughters, Tonya Johnson (Mark) and Valerie Glenn both of La Monte; seven grandchildren, Kaylyn, Kate, Cody, Seth, Gavin, Chloe and Claire; a great granddaughter, Stella Marie; a brother, Earl Forbes (Belinda) of La Monte; four sisters, Phoebe Forbes of Independence, MO, Becky Franke (J.W.) of Novelty, MO, Marilyn Nelson (Doyle) of Hooksett, NH, and Sherilyn Nichols (Dan) of Highland, IN.

A Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Fox Theater in Sedalia, MO.

Memorial contributions are suggested to MO Kids Outdoors or to a charity of the donors choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
