Obituary For Daniel F. Staus

Daniel (Dan) Frederick Staus, 84, of Sedalia, MO passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born on January 23, 1937 in Green Ridge, MO the son of F.A. Staus and Margaret C. (Lappat) Staus, who preceded him in death.

On June 6, 1959 in Meta, MO he was united in marriage to Dorothy A. Huhmann, who resides in the home.

Daniel served his country honorable in the United States Army.

In addition to his wife he is survived by six children, Fred Staus (Sheila) of Smithton, MO, Eileen Hicks (Marc) of Ocala, FL, Tom Staus (Dana) of Hughesville, MO, James Staus (Karen) of Tipton, MO, Martha Manuel (Bret) of Sedalia, MO, and Chris Staus (Michele) of Overland Park, KS; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a sister, Margie Weller of Sedalia, and a brother, Merley Staus (Judy) of Sedalia; a sister-in-law, Mary Helen Staus of Smithton, MO.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Craig; and a brother, Milburn Staus.

A Rosary will begin at 5:00 p.m Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday June 28, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David Veit and Father Mark Miller officiating.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Adam Pritchard, Steven Curtis, Daniel M. Staus, Matthew D. Staus, Earl Manuel, and Lauren Staus.

Honorary bearers will be all Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church / St. Vincent de Paul Parish in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
