Dale Wayne Slaughter Sr.

Dale Wayne Slaughter Sr., 73, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on December 18, 2024, at his home in Sedalia. He was born on May 6, 1951, in Brosley, MO, the son of Ail Slaughter and Bonnie Leonburger.

On March 3, 1972, in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was united in marriage to Susan Claire (Klick) Slaughter, who resides in the home.

Dale enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved fishing, horseback riding, and working on anything that needed to be fixed. He loved to find a good bargain, and one of his favorite pastimes was going to auctions with his wife, Susan. He loved nothing more than his family. Together, he and Susan lived out a beautiful love story. They were an example of true love to everyone around them for 52 years. He wanted nothing more than for his two sons to build lives they love. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was "Papa Dale" and they each adored him. He loved to spoil the little ones and provide advice and guidance to the older ones. He was a wonderful role model for his family, as he was generous and kind. He was always willing to help others, and he was always up for visiting and laughing with his family and friends.

Besides his wife, Dale is survived by, two sons, Dale Wayne Junior (Jess) of Texas, and Robert Slaughter (Melissa) of Sedalia, MO; one sister, Carolyn Green of Sedalia, MO; six grandchildren, Sarah Proctor (Tanner), Elizabeth Gilliam (Taylor), Emma Slaughter, Matthew Slaughter, Nick Slaughter, and Lilian Slaughter, and five great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Dale is preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Slaughter.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO, with full military honors conducted by the United States Navy and the VFW Post #2591.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be made to Retrieving Freedom in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
