Dale A. Blatterman, 66, of Sedalia passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on July 31, 1950 in Sedalia, the son of Harry L. and Adella "Blondie" (Franklin) Blatterman, who preceded him in death. On September 5, 1970 in Sedalia he was united in marriage to Peggy Green, who resides in Sedalia. To that union they had two children, a son Brian Blatterman and a daughter, Lori (Chris) Smith all of Sedalia. Besides his children, he is also survived by a brother, Harry L. (Louise) Blatterman, Jr. of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Chelsea, Kaytlin, Bailey, Tyler and Cody; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Jean (Blatterman) Thomas. Dale worked for First Student as a bus driver in the Sedalia #200 School District for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially making fudge candy for the holidays and the Missouri State Fair competitions, where he won several blue ribbons. Dale enjoyed driving the JROTC cadets to competitions and was made an honorary life time member of the JROTC. Dale loved going to all of his grandkids sporting events. He lived all of his life in Sedalia. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Hankins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris, Tyler and Cody Smith; Rich, Zach and Lane Simmons; Luke and Jackson Beaman; and Caden Landers. Honorary bearers will be Randall and Michelle Woods and Smith-Cotton JROTC Cadets. Memorial contributions may be made to Smith-Cotton JROTC program in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
