Craig Leroy Silvey, 67, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at his home. He was born on October 13, 1950 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Clarence and Barbara (Fuqua) Silvey, who preceded him in death.
Craig served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. During his last few years he worked as the Executive Director of The Embassy. Craig enjoyed helping the broken find restoration and the less fortunate to get to a better place in their lives. Craig enjoyed the Boy Scouts where he served as Scout Master of Troop 54 for several years. He helped write a grant from the NRA for a shooting sports program. He was a great influence on many boys in Boy Scouts. Craig is survived by his son John Silvey (Michelle) of Oakpark, IL and his daughter, Brandy Baker (Bradley) of Coral Springs, FL; five grandchildren; two brothers, Randy Silvey (Arlene), and Bryan Silvey of Sedalia; and three sisters, Karen Kidwell (Randy) of Springfield, MO, Susan Harrelson (Marvin), and Tina Vansell (Jim) of Sedalia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Silvey.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gary Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia.
Pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Cliff McBride, Don Dexter, and Walter Doyal,
Memorial contributions may be made to The Embassy House in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
