Constance Elain "Connie" Christian, 69, of Sedalia passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. She was born on March 31, 1947 in Sedalia, the daughter of Theodore and Georgia Mae (Miles) Christian, who preceded her in death.
Connie worked at Fair View Nursing home for over 20 years. She started out in housekeeping but moved up quickly to Activities Director, which she was very proud of. She took pride in bringing joy and smiles to others and being Activities Director allowed her to do just that. She had a beautiful spirit, a caring and nurturing heart and was known to all as “Aunt Connie”. The love that she shared was felt by everyone she came into contact with. Whether a complete stranger or a niece or nephew, she treated everyone with love and had a gift of bringing happiness and peace to all. Most dear to her heart were her daughters and grandchildren, who made her life complete. She is survived by two daughters, Veronica Pantoya (Anthony) of Sedalia and Vanessa Hatcher - Edwards Johns (Tobias) of Aurora, CO; seven siblings, Anelda Jane Wilson of Tempe, AZ, Theodore Winfred Christian (Marie) of Columbia, Henry DeWayne Christian of Tempe, AZ, Ronald Lee Christian of Sedalia, Sandra Kay Williams (Floyd) of Sedalia, Roberta "Bobbie" Moore of Grandview, MO, and Rickey Garvel Christian, Sr. of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Antonio, Quentin, Tanaisha, and Myles; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Wandzella Marshall.
A cremation was performed and a celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
