Obituary For Colleen Kay Phillips

Colleen Kay Phillips, 66, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on October 30, 2022, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. She was born on October 15, 1956, in Sedalia, MO, the daughter of Charles and Frances "Curry" Paxton, who preceded her in death.

On May 23, 1993, in Sedalia, MO, she was united in marriage to Steven Junior Phillips, who resides in the home.

Colleen was a Smith Cotton graduate. She worked at Rival Manufacturing for many years. She enjoyed competing in barrel racing. She also loved fishing, crocheting, and spending time with her grandkids, great-grandchildren, and family. In addition, she loved to cook and learn new recipes from Food Network. She enjoyed life to the fullest and will be greatly missed.

Other than her husband, she is survived by her children, Barry Monteer (Kirstie), of Mora, MO, Leah Monteer, of Sedalia, Charles Monteer (Jessica), of Sedalia, Angela Monteer, of Sedalia; grandchildren, Christian, A.J., Kelsey, Lil B.J., Jacolby, Cheyanne, Taylor, Brooklynn, Alexis, Bailey, Jacklynn, Jayden, Ayden, Aubrey, Kendra, Kinsley, Madilyne, baby Daniel; great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Brentlee, Barry III "Bear, Colson, Easton, Katalina, Lakelyn; sister, Theresa Stathem, of Sedalia, and her best friend, Nijuana Jones, of Lake Alfred, FL.

Besides her parents, Colleen is preceded in death by her maternal grandma, Genevieve Curry; paternal grandma, Lois "Savage" Spellmeyer; son, Timmy Monteer; granddogger, Cota; nephew, Caleb Stathem; uncle, Gary Curry and aunt, Sharon Catalina.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Jay McMillin officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
