Obituary For Clifford Wayne Butterwick

Clifford Wayne Butterwick, 84, of Sedalia passed away Wednesday, October 07, 2015 at his home. He was born on March 16, 1931 in Sedalia, the son of Louis August Butterwick and Mary Florence Hayworth, who preceded him in death.

On May 8, 1959 in Sedalia he was united in marriage to Ada Frances Gamber, who survives of the home.

Wayne graduated from Smith-Cotton High School, Sedalia. He lived in Sedalia all his life and spent 30 years employed at Town and Country Shoes. Wayne also worked at the Center for Human Services for 11 years and at Printlynx for 13 years. Wayne was a great family man and a loving father. Sunday dinners with his family were very important to him. He was also a very social, active man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Honda Goldwing. He and Ada traveled to 19 different states by motorcycle. He was one of the original members of the Sedalia Motorcycle Group for 59 years. He was also one of the originators of the Iron Horseman Motorcycle Association (also known as the Sedalia Motorcycle Association) established in 1959 and was a member there for 56 years. Wayne was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1952 - 1954 stationed in Italy.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael Butterwick of Sedalia; a daughter, Carla Butterwick Drollinger (Joe) of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher, Austin, Dakota, and Max; and three great grandchildren, Brylee, Teaghan and McKenzie.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Butterwick; and a sister, Alice Cullars.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Rev. Kevin Gamber and Steven Gamber officiating.

Visitation will be at the chapel one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at New Bethel United Methodist Cemetery, Sedalia. Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside.

The Sedalia area Patriot Guard will lead the funeral procession to the cemetery. All other motorcycles are welcome to come.

Pallbearers will be Jack Shepard, Dale Reed, Larry Brooks, Ward Wollard, Rick Yeager, and Tommy Darrah, Jr.

Honorary bearers will be Larry Yeager, Barry Henderson, John Arnwine, and Earl Smith.
