Obituary For Cleo Wissman

Cleo James Wissman, 85, of Sedalia passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on November 12, 1931 in the Village of Flat Creek, MO, the son of Jacob J. and Maude (Davis) Wissman, who both preceded him in death.

On July 24, 1955 in Cole Camp, MO, he was united in marriage to Myloh Mae Tobaben, who resides in the home.

Cleo was a 1950 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He served his county honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Cleo worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad as a carman for 45 years retiring in 1994. He enjoyed hunting and especially fishing, gardening and farming. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the highlights of his life.

Besides his wife Mae, he is also survived by three sons, Kirk Wissman (Pam) of Cole Camp, Marlin Wissman of Sedalia, and Bart Wissman (Christine) of Sedalia; a daughter, Alesia Wissman of Sedalia; a brother, Jacob J. Wissman of Sedalia; six grandchildren, Eric, Jennifer, Jessica, Cody J., Dylan, and Joseph; and thirteen great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by three brothers, and four sisters.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev Dan Hankins officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at the chapel.

Burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia. Full military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post #2591 and Warrensburg, MO Army National Guard.

Pallbearers will be Eric Wissman, Cody J. Wissman, Dylan Wissman, Joseph Wansing, Heath Wissman, and Jeff Wissman.

Honorary bearers will be Bryson Galariada, Austin Archambault, Clayton Archambault, Kaden Wissman, and Jim McMurdo.

Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, MO, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
