Obituary For Cleo L. McCune

Cleo Louise McCune, 92, of Sedalia passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was born on October 18, 1921 in Sedalia, a daughter of Cleo T. and Margaret (Sands) Bell.

On July 10, 1942 in Santa Barbara, CA, she was united in marriage to Arthur McCune, who preceded her in death on June 2, 1994.

Cleo worked for Lamy Mfg. for 25 years. She was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church, where she served as nursery coordinator for 20 years. Cleo was PTA President for Washington School from 1962-1963, and volunteered at the Children’s Therapy Center when it first opened. She loved going to her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s ballgames.

She is survived by three children, Charles McCune and his husband Allen Dunn of San Francisco, CA, Margaret “Markie” Hart and her husband Michael of Sedalia, Belinda Seamon and her husband Ed of Sedalia; one sister, Norma Gilpin of Sedalia; one brother, Charles Bell and his wife Jean of Sedalia; six grandchildren, Lila Bode and her husband Stephen, Erik Hart and his wife Abbey, Maggie Freitas and her husband Tony, Steven Young, Ryan Young and Robbie Graham; fourteen great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kaylee, Tyler, Karli, Kobe, Jackson, Clay, Gracelynn, Dayne, Ella, Olivia, Bridget, Emma and Lainey.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Harry Lee McCune (at infancy); one grandson, Robby Young; two sisters, Margaret Wells and Daisy Stratton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Rev. Scott Braun officiating.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Erik Hart, Steven Young, Ryan Young, Tyler Freitas, Hunter Buerkey, Jeffrey Freitas, Robbie Graham and Stephen Bode.

Memorial contributions are suggested to East Sedalia Baptist Church or The Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of the funeral chapel.
