Claudia Lou Young, 73, of Sweet Springs, MO, passed away on June 25, 2024, in Sweet Springs, MO. She was born on September 30, 1950, baby boomer years, in St. Louis, MO, and was the daughter of Cliffton McCorkle and Betty (Baker) McCorkle, who preceded her in death.
She was united in marriage to George Young, who preceded her in death on May 14, 2014. She is survived by her significant other, Rayfel Dolford, of Beaumont, TX.
Claudia Young graduated high school in Liberty, Missouri. She wanted to further her education as an electrician, but back then, it was more for males than females, so she obtained a beauty school hair license in the 1970s, where she did her own business out of her own house. Later, in the 90s, she opened a sandwich shop with her friend Betty Viville in Houston, Texas, for a few years. Claudia Young has six kids and raised them to the best of her ability. Claudia also has several grandchildren, which she was close to most. Claudia Young used to work at Sweet Springs Villa in Sweet Springs, Missouri, for many years. She also worked a job at Rival company in Sweet Springs, Missouri, for many years, as well as the company Unatog out of Sweet Springs, Missouri, for a couple of years. Before retirement, she worked in the deli at Patricia's in Concordia, Missouri, for a couple of years. Claudia Young would always volunteer at several churches in several places. She was part of a Catholic family under her uncle Monsignor Louis McCorkle from Conception, Missouri, who lived amongst the monks in the infirmary. Claudia always gave the strangest gifts but had the best open heart and looked out for their best interest. Claudia Young was very respected and loved, as she has done to others, and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Her number one goal, saying, belief, and accomplishments were in the Lord as she is finally where she belongs and wants to be the best home, the best medicine, and the best life is in heaven with our Lord and Savior ~
