Clark Morrow Payne, 78, of Sedalia, MO passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 11, 1942 in Garden City, MO the son of Paul Morrow Payne and Mary Nadine (Fisher) Payne, who preceded him in death.
Clark was a 1960 graduate of La Monte High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1961 - 1964 where he spent time stationed in Japan. He then served in the Army Reserve until 1967. Clark worked as a printing press operator at Inter-State Studios and retired from Printing Services at Central Missouri State University. Clark had a passion for history, collecting model cars, Tonka trucks, Titanic memorabilia, and antiques. He enjoyed outdoor hikes, relaxing in his gazebo, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Jim C. Payne of Sedalia; a daughter, Barbara Schiermeier (Paul) of Chesapeake, VA; a granddaughter, Breanna Schiemeier; a sister, Rose Mary Rouse, of Buhl, ID; three nieces, Lori Rouse, Renae Santino, and Tracie Christensen (T.J.).
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jim Rouse and his ex-wife Betty Payne.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
Burial will be at La Monte Cemetery, La Monte, MO with full military honors by Sedalia VFW #2591 and the U.S. Army.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
