Clarence Eugene "Gene" Meyer, 77, of Sedalia passed away Tuesday July 12, 2016 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born on December 19, 1938 in Bahner, MO the son of Clarence D. and Sula (Davis) Meyer, who preceded him in death.
On June 4, 1960 in Sedalia he was united in marriage to Judy Kuykendall, who survives of the home.
Gene was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He worked as an over the road truck driver for over 30 years. He was a member of Sedalia Moose Lodge BPOE #1492 and former member of the Sedalia Elks Lodge #125. He served his country in the Missouri National Guard out of Marshall, MO retaining the rank of Sergeant. He enjoyed carpentry, remodeling houses and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife Judy, he is also survived by a daughter Robin Williams (Bob) of Sedalia; two sons Rick Meyer (Darlene) of Sedalia; Roddy Meyer of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Miranda, Caitlin, Nathan, Maggie, Lucas, and Carley.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Gary Meyer.
A mass of christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Mark Miller, C.PP.S. officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be at Smithton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
