Obituary For Clarence Edward Marshall

Clarence Edward Marshall 74, of Byron, Georgia passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was born October 25, 1947 in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of Richard Marshall aka “Rich ” and Eunice O’Dessa (Gray) Marshall Fulcher who preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Thomas Lee Wyatt, Loyatus Francis “King” Marshall and sisters Georgella Lyles, Mary “Minnie” Hill, June Jefferson and Yvonne “Bonnie” Jones. Surviving siblings include Charles “Dickie” Marshall (Wanda) of Lawrence, Kansas, Albert “Birddog” Marshall (Patricia) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Eunice Willene Hardy of Sedalia, Missouri. He was the youngest of 10 children.

Clarence was united in marriage to Cheryl Kaye Scroggins on May 9, 1973 for thirteen (13) years. He then married Yvonne “Rainie” Edgar in May of 1986. They remained married until Yvonne’s passing in October of 2016.

Clarence attended Hubbard School the entire twelve (12) years of his education and became one of their high school graduates.

Just days after receiving his high school diploma, Clarence joined the United States Navy where he served for eight (8) years in the State of California, Japan and the Vietnam War. Mr. Marshall continued to serve his country by joining the United States Coast Guard serving an additional twelve (12) years. Ending his career with the United States Military, Clarence went to work for JB Hunt as an over-the-road truck driver until his retirement.

Mr. Marshall was an Honorary Deacon at the Mount Nebo Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia under the leadership of Reverend Milton Denmark, I. During his early childhood, Clarence was a member of Burns Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Sedalia and was a participant in the Youth Choir.

Clarence had a love for music and was an excellent musician. He played piano, keyboard, drums, and base guitar. Clarence loved watching movies and traveling. But his greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his “Mama”.

Clarence is survived by two daughters, Kawrisa Lynn Marshall of Byron, Georgia and Lula O'Dessa Mae Marshall of Sedalia, Missouri; two sons, Edward Garnel Marshall and Sherwin Delane Marshall both of Sedalia, Missouri. Five (5) step-children, Monica (Kelvin) Braxton of Newport News, Virginia and four (4) others. Eight (8) grandchildren: Kylee Janelle, Miranda Kaye, Shay, Edward Jr., Delaney, Keenan, Lincoln, Nyla Mae, a great granddaughter, Alivia and a host of step grandchildren/great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Bishop Paul Jones officiating. The family strongly request face covering and social distancing.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the United States Coast Guard and Sedalia VFW Post #2591. Pallbearers will be Clarence Lyles (aka Ricky), Calvin Marshall (aka Butch), Clark Lyles, Kevin Hardy, Juan Jones, Jerry Wyatt, Kelvin Braxton

Honorary bearers will be Edward (Garnel) Marshall, Sherwin Delane Marshall, Cecil Jones, Jimmy Williams, David Graves, Milton L. Denmark, II

Friends are invited to join the family for a Repast at the Lantern House located at 21746 West US-50 Hwy, Sedalia Missouri (across from Pet Smart) immediately following graveside services (1:00-3:00).
