Christopher Ray Bennett

Christopher Ray Bennett, 31, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in St. Louis, MO. He was born on December 22, 1991, in Denver, CO, the son of Phillip Morris, of Commerce City, CO, and Sarah and Richard (Bennett) Martin, of Sedalia.

Christopher loved being outside. Anything with nature he loved as well. He enjoyed going to the race track with his dad when he was younger. He loved NASCAR. He loved his family, his baby sister, and his brothers. Christopher attended Smith-Cotton High School. His greatest accomplishment while there was JROTC.

In addition to his parents, survivors include a sister, Madison Martin; three brothers, James Sutton, Matthew Martin, and Michael Martin; maternal grandmother, Debra Zeigafuse of Casper, WY; a step-paternal grandmother, Mary Martin, of Sedalia; four step-nieces; a step-nephew; two nephews; several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfathers, Melvin Bennett and Lyle Cressy, his paternal grandmother, Geri, and his great-grandparents.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church, Celebration Center with Pastor Candace Fowler officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
