Obituary For Charles Woods

Charles A Woods, 77, of Sedalia, MO passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. He was born on March 8, 1938 in Statesboro, GA the son of Edward and Bonnie (Hogan) Woods, who have preceded him in death. On June 7, 1957 in Sedalia, MO he was united in marriage to Carolyn Ditzfeld, who survives of the home. Charles enjoyed poetry and working on cars. He was knowledgeable of all makes and models. Charles served his country honorably in the US Air Force, during Vietnam. He retired from Whiteman Air Force Base in January of 1976, where he worked as a security policeman. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and The Masonic Granite Lodge #272 AF & AM. Besides his wife, Charles is survived by six children, Joyce Berger (Stuart) of Columbia, MO, Theresa Lewis (Lee) of Jacksonville, AR, Rick Woods (Joyce) of Sedalia, MO, Randall Woods (Michele) of Sedalia, MO, Cindy Peck (Randy Harvey) of Sedalia, MO and Christy Liebl (Terry) of Sedalia, MO; one brother, Bernard LaVaughn (Eugenia) of Statesboro, GA; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO with Rev. Ted Francis officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Masonic service will be conducted by Granite Lodge 272 AF&AM at 1:45pm. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by WAFB Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Christopher Trickey, Richard Woods, Jr., Justin Peck, Chad Peck, Robert Meyer and Robbie Ramey. Honorary bearers will be Jason Trickey, Heath Berger, Trey Lewis, Brandon Lewis, Kimberly Porter, Randall Woods, Jr., Angela Allison, Tara Sandlin and Ashlynn Liebl. Memorials are suggested to The Masonic Lodge in care of the funeral chapel.
