Charles William Moore, 79, of Sedalia passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 at his home. He was born on December 15, 1934 in La Monte, MO, the son of Aubrey L. and Virginia (Mahan) Moore.
On August 29, 1954 in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Curtis, who survives of the home. Charley and Jeanette were married for 59 years.
Charley served his country honorably in the US Army. He worked for Safeway in the meat department, as manager for 22 years. Then, went to Exon-Mobile as office worker, and retired as gas measurement tech in 1994. He was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school, served as deacon, helped with mission trips, visitations and rejoiced in his relationship with his Lord. He volunteered with R.S.V.P. doing medical runs for retired seniors. He liked car racing, traveling, reading, cooking on the grill and working in his yard. Charley enjoyed life to the fullest, he will be missed by his family and friends who loved him.
Besides his wife he is survived by; one son, Paul Moore (Denna) of Dodge City, KS; one brother, David Moore (Dana) of Wichita, KS; two sisters, Ruth Casdorph of Sedalia and Laura Williams of Broken Arrow, OK.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Moore, Jr.; and one sister, Doris Hensley.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Rev Ted Francis and Rev. Lloyd Hefner officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
Military honors will be conducted at service.
Honorary bearers will be Jim and Mark Harrison, Mike and Danny Crum, Mike Cramer and Ed Hancock.
Memorial contributions are suggested to The Wounded Warriors Project in care of the funeral chapel.
