Charles Russell Livengood Jr., 82, of Sedalia, MO, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born October 18, 1934 in Gibbons Glade, PA, the son of Charles and Anabelle (Knox) Livengood, Sr, who preceded him in death. Charles graduated from George's Township High School. He was united in marriage to Ruth Vannoy, who survives of the home. He was a member of Fairchance Church of the Brethren. Charles served his country honorably in the US Air Force in both the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served for twenty years and eight days. After an honorable discharge from the Armed Forces he worked for Howard Construction for four years and then for Waterloo Industry for eighteen years. Besides his wife, Ruth, he is survived by three children, Russell, Ronald, and Janice Livengood, all of Sedalia. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Wilson and Rosella Springsteen; and one brother, Thomas Livengood. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2017, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with the Rev. Dan Hankins officiating. It was Charles' wish that everyone wear blue jeans to his funeral. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Green Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.B. Vannoy, Richard Vannoy, Tommy Livengood, Ronald Livengood, John Simpson, and Don Nelson. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
