Obituary For Charles E. Leftwich

Charles E. Leftwich, 91, of Sedalia passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Rest Haven Convalescent Home, Sedalia. He was born on July 23, 1923 in Beaman, Mo a son of James Edgar and Ellen Leftwich, who preceded him in death.

He was general manager for Mike O’Connor Chevrolet Buick GMC. Charles later owned and operated Leftwich & Lee Motors of Sedalia. Charles spent many years in the automobile industry. He also spent a number of years farming with his father on the family farm at Lookout, near Beaman, Mo. He served his country honorably as a pilot in the US Navy WWII, flying the Multi Engine PB4Y2. In his spare time, he enjoyed researching family genealogy.

On March 5, 1946 in Sedalia he was united in marriage to Doris LaFavre, who survives of Sedalia.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Chuck Leftwich (Jana) of Sedalia and Lynn Paul (Richard) of Overland Park, KS; three granddaughters, Anne Sneed, Ginger Alexander and Jill Ferguson; six great grandchildren, Olivia Aggeler, Dakota Aggeler, Nick Alexander, Victoria Alexander, Jameson Alexander and Jaclyn Alexander.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Hoyle and Betty O’Neill.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 pm, Friday, September 19, 2014 at Salem Cemetery, rural Pettis County, with Rev. Eddie Brown officiating.

VFW Post 2591, will conduct military honors at the graveside.

Family will receive friends prior to graveside service, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
