Obituary For Charles Dumont Murphy
Charles Dumont Murphy, 80, of Sedalia, MO passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center. He was born on June 1, 1940 in Green City, MO the son of Ralph Dumont and Susan Alice (Crocker) Murphy, who preceded him in death.
On June 5, 1960 in Milan, MO he was united in marriage to Wilma Faye (Miller) Murphy, who resides in the home.
Charles worked as an over the road truck driver and retired from ABF Truck Lines. He enjoyed NASCAR, Royals baseball, fishing, wood working, listening to country music, traveling, and working outdoors. Charles especially loved going camping and fishing with his grandson Kyle.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Alice F. Beeson (Dennis) of Centerville, IA, Monty R. Murphy (Kim) of Columbia, and Danny J. Murphy (LuAnn) of Hazelton, IA; five grandchildren, Alex Beeson, Aaron Beeson, Adam Beeson, Kyle Murphy, and Derrick Murphy; six great grandchildren, Ayden Beeson, Kennedy Beeson, Hadley Beeson, Alexis Beeson, Zander Cooprider, and Weston Murphy; a sister, Reva Sue Blackman of Kirksville, MO.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a half brother, Marvin Murphy.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2020 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dennis Beeson officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Burial will be at Crown Hill, Sedalia, MO.
Pallbearers will be Alex Beeson, Aaron Beeson, Adam Beeson, Kyle Murphy, and Dennis Beeson.
Honorary bearers will be Derrick Murphy and Dennis Roberts.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Conservation Department in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
