Charles Donald Bacon Sr., 85, of Warsaw, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at his home. He was born on April 21, 1932 in Clio, Michigan the son of Donald Leslie and Clara Helen Harger Bacon, who preceded him in death.
Chuck was raised on a farm in Clio, Michigan. He moved to California in 1957 with his wife and three daughters after being laid off from General Motors. California is where his son was born and where he resided until he retired to Missouri in 1989. Chuck had a great number of friends in California and all of them were in Law Enforcement. He was known to them as "VW Chuck" due to his mechanic skills. He spent much of his free time going on motorcycle trips with his friends to Mexico. He also had a great passion for fishing and he enjoyed his life living on the Lake of the Ozarks with his best friend, Darby. He was loved dearly and will be truly missed by all of his family.
He is survived by three daughters, Patricia L. Bayless, Muriel J. Brady, and Tina M. Meriweather; two sons, Charles D. Bacon, Jr. and Andrew J. Bacon; three sisters, Sandra Bacon Lloyd, Bonita Helen Hautala, and Julieanna Bacon Stanfield; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Helen Yvonne Bacon; and a brother, Robert W. Bacon.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
