Obituary For Carolyn Woods

Carolyn S. (Ditzfeld) Woods, 75, of Sedalia passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on May 5, 1940 in Beaman, MO the daughter of John W. Ditzfeld Sr. and Erma McDowell, who preceded her in death. On June 7, 1957, in Sedalia she was united in marriage to Charles A. "Woody" Woods, who preceded her in death on February 22, 2016. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sedalia. Carolyn dedicated her life to being a devoted wife, mother and grandma. She loved to cook, and spend time with her brothers and sisters. Carolyn especially loved seeing the smiling faces of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is survived by six children, Joyce Berger (Stuart) of Columbia, MO, Theresa Lewis (Lee) of Jacksonville, AR, Rick Woods (Joyce) of Sedalia, Randall Woods (Michele) of Sedalia, Cindy Peck (Randy Harvey) of Sedalia, and Christy Liebl (Terry) of Sedalia; a brother, George Ditzfeld of Sedalia; three sisters, Viola May (James) of Sedalia, Norma Johnson of Sedalia, and Bonnie Hrdlicka (Bob) Independence, MO; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, John Ditzfeld, Jr., Victor Ditzfeld, Harry Ditzfeld, and Bobbie Ditzfeld; three sisters, Bernice Ash, Ruth Bass, and Dora Parker. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, which is her husband (Woody's) birthday, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jim Downing officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Woods, Jr., Randall Woods, Jr., Justin Peck, Chad Peck, Ron Ditzfeld, and Tom May. Honorary bearers will be grandchildren, Jason Trickey, Christopher Trickey, Heath Berger, Trey Lewis, Brandon Lewis, Kimberly Porter, Angela Allison, Tara Sandlin, Ashlynn Liebl. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
