Obituary For Carol Kay Mahalovich

Carol Kay Mahalovich, 74, of Sedalia, MO passed away peacefully Friday, December 14, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 21, 1944 in Sedalia, the daughter of William and Helen (Busker) Lawson, who preceded her in death.

On March 17, 1962 in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Frank Leroy Mahalovich, who survives of the home.

She enjoyed making crafts, sewing, quilting, and gardening. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and loved attending Sunday services. She was the heart of her family and especially loved having them together for Sunday dinners. She will be dearly missed.

Besides her husband of fifty-six years, survivors include four children, Mark Mahalovich, Terry Mahalovich (Kim), Tim Mahalovich (Amy), and Connie Labus (Jay), all of Sedalia; brother-in-law, Kenny Mahalovich; sister-in-law, Sylvia Knapp (Bob); nine grandchildren, Emily Lehman (Lary, II), Gracie Mahalovich, Lucy Mahalovich, Kiersten Labus (Tate Williams), Jaylynne Labus, Noah Labus, Jordan Fields (Roy), Kinsey Mahalovich (Tyler Robinson), and Tanner Mahalovich; seven great-grandchildren, Weston Skrzypczak, Brecken Williams, Coleson Williams, Avery Lehman, Luke Lehman, Alexia Fields, and Anderson Fields; multiple nephews and nieces; and her dear friends Jo and Bob Johnson.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jerry Lawson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Hopewell Baptist Church, Sedalia, MO with Rev. David Owens, officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.

Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Also, there will be a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday evening, December 17, 2018 at Hopewell Baptist Church. This is not a regular visitation, rather an additional time for family and friends to fellowship who cannot attend the formal visitation and funeral on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Dale J. Rhoads, Robbie Ramey, Bobby Lawson, Oliver Dale Rhoads, Gary Cornine, Bob Knapp, and Kevin Lawson.

Honorary bearers will be Emily Lehman, Kiersten Labus, Jaylynne Labus, Jordan Fields, Kinsey Mahalovich, Gracie Mahalovich, Tanner Mahalovich, Lucy Mahalovich, Noah Labus.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Cemetery in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
