Buddy Joe Duncan, 90, of Sedalia, MO, formerly of Harrisonville and Archie, MO, passed away on July 28, 2024, at his home in Sedalia. He was born on June 18, 1934, in Harrisonville, MO, the son of Joe Duncan and Grace (Burgoon) Duncan, who preceded him in death.
On October 2, 1953, in Nevada, MO, he was united in marriage to Dixie Carol Beeler, who preceded him in death on December 18, 2016.
Buddy retired from the Missouri State Highway Department in 1980 and preached the gospel for 52 years for the Church of Christ throughout Missouri and Arkansas.
Dixie had various jobs in accounting and office management, some as editor of Oak Grove Banner, Harmon Bus Company, and Wallace Architect. Still, the most important job was as a wife and mother.
Buddy and Dixie's survivors include a daughter, Kathy Chambers of Sedalia; four grandsons, JJ Shepherd (Tina), Robbie Shepherd (Mary), Bill Huff, and Brian Huff (Heather); eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Calvin Beeler (Barbara) of Warsaw, MO.
In addition to their parents, Buddy and Dixie were preceded in death by a daughter, Sidney Huff, and a half-brother, James Hall.
A graveside memorial service and burial for Buddy and Dixie will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO, with JJ Shepherd officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
