Bruce Calvin Sorge, 65, of Cole Camp, MO passed away November 23, 2016 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO. He was born on August 27, 1951 in Sidney, NE the son of Gilbert Sorge and Mildred Westerhoff Sorge.
Catherine Maureen Sorge, 63, of Cole Camp, MO passed away October 28,2016 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp. She was born on May 29, 1953 in Moreno Valley, CA. She is the daughter of Edward Gozdecki and Margie Grantham Gozdecki.
Bruce and Cathi were united in marriage at lifelong friends, Dan and Sharon Spurck's home in Imperial Beach, CA on October 13, 1979. Together they raised two sons, James Bowen and Ryan Sorge. They both enjoyed country dancing, bowling, and attending concerts of multiple musical genres (but especially Don Williams).
Bruce enlisted in the United States Navy and honorably served for 21 years, retiring as an Air Controller Chief Petty Officer. Cathi worked as a property manager for several companies to include Darron Properties. Shortly after Bruce's retirement, they opened Stone Soup Antiques and Uniques in Cole Camp, MO in the building that was originally the city's lumber barn.
Bruce is survived by his siblings Lawrence, Roger, Stuart, Maxine and Rowena . He is preceded in death by his father Gilbert and mother Mildred.
Cathi is survived by her father Edward and her brothers Steve, Dan, and Tim. She is preceded in death by her mother Margie and brother Roger.
Both are survived by their sons James and Ryan, and grandson Demian.
A celebration of life gathering of family and friends for both Bruce and his wife Cathi will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia. The family will receive one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
