Obituary For Bret A. Turns

Bret Alan Turns, 51, of Sedalia passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 at his home. He had been on hospice care for four days. He was born on March 11, 1965 in Peoria, Illinois. on his first birthday the family moved to Sedalia. He was the son of William Earl Turns, who preceded him in death on March 1, 2016 and Nancy Ann Turns, who resides in Sedalia.

He graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1983. He was active in sports, especially soccer. He attended State Fair Community College and moved on to Central Missouri State University. He coached soccer with the Sedalia Hustlers and went on to win the Kansas City Soccer League.

He was a member of Sedalia Elks Lodge #125 and at one time held the office as Lecturing Knight and also a member of the Sedalia Moose Lodge #1494. He became a master printer and thoroughly loved his career. His favorite past time was his place at the lake, during the season for 16 years he spent many weekends there, loving the scenic view from his deck.

He leaves his beloved cat, Kika; his mom, Nancy of Sedalia; a brother, Todd Turns (Linda Casey) of Sedalia; a special friend Carol Smith of Sedalia.

Bret's wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gary Smith leading the service. There will also be a time for sharing of memories from friends and family.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter or to the Sedalia Boys and Girls Club in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
