Brenda Sue Byrd, 73, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on April 10, 2025, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on November 14, 1951, in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of William Lee Withers and Norma Mae Pryor, who preceded her in death.
In Smithton, MO, she was united in marriage to John Wayne Byrd, who resides in the home.
Brenda graduated high school from Smith-Cotton in 1969. She then went to State Fair Community College and graduated in 2010 with a Liberal Arts degree in billing and medical coding. Brenda worked at Bothwell Regional Health Center for over 20 years as a CNA and a ward secretary. She was a dog groomer and breeder for many years. In her later years, she became a caregiver. She was an advocate for animals and relocating animals. She loved all fur babies, even the ones with feathers. She loved to write. She loved her family and friends, especially her mustard seed necklace Tuesday's.
Besides her husband, John, Brenda is survived by three children, Thomas Richard Burlingame of Sedalia, Kelly Rene Wallace Renno of Sedalia, MO, and Casey Michael Wallace of Warrensburg, MO; a sister, Cheri Milburn and her husband James of Sedalia, MO; six grandchildren, Tyler, Marissa, Taylor, Alison, Zoe, and Colin; three great-grandchildren, Brooks, Haztynn, and Heartlee; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Besides her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sabrina and Kyndra, and a son-in-law, Joe Renno.
Services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
