Bobby Joe Ross, 78, of Sedalia, MO passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born on March 30, 1939 in Sedalia, the son of George and Myrtle (Steele) Ross, who preceded him in death.
On July 1, 1966 he was united in marriage to Eliza Palau, who survives of the home.
Bobby was a member of the 1957 class at Smith-Cotton High School. He owned and operated Bob's Used Furniture and Antiques for over twenty years. He also worked with the Sedalia Water Department and was the service manager for Goodyear Tires. He enjoyed fishing and going to the casinos in Las Vegas and the local boats. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlene Viebrock, Elizabeth Dillon, and Debbie Hyde, four sons, Bobby Joe Ross, Jr., Darren Ross, Jimmy Ross and Ray Ross, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, and his brother Charles Ross.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter BettyAnn Mueller and his two brothers Junior and Donald Ross.
A memorial gathering will take place from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO. The memorial gathering will be at 6:00 pm sharp with full military honors. A luncheon will be provided before the memorial gathering at Emmett Avenue Baptist Church, where he was a charter member, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
