Bobbie Dean Barker

Bobbie Dean Barker, 85, of Warsaw, MO formerly of Sedalia, MO passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021, at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on May 9, 1936 in Clinton, MO the son of Art Barker and Elsie (Knisely) Barker, who preceded him in death.

On December 10, 1954 in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Janette Murray, who preceded him in death on June 3, 2019. On June 8, 1984 he was united in marriage to Diane Stafford who resides in Sedalia.

Bobbie received his Master Plumber's License while working with his father at Barker and Sons Plumbing before becoming a longtime builder and developer in and around Sedalia. Bobbie had several business adventures throughout his life. He purchased The Morris Motel in Sedalia. He owned a Ben Franklin store in Cody, Wyoming, and owned and operated a United Farm real estate office in Sedalia. He constructed and operated the Busy B Arena, built and operated Luv & Care Day Care Center, and owned and operated West 50 Storage and Uhaul. Bobbie also served as a Building Official for Sedalia for 8 years.

He enjoyed becoming a pilot and owned his own plane. He stayed active in his yard, loved to hunt, fish, and enjoy the outdoors, especially on his boat.

Survivors include a daughter, Terri Bartol (Fred) of Sedalia; a son, Ronnie Barker of Rockwall, TX; two grandsons, Justin Barker (Heather) and Shelby Barker (Emily); seven great grandchildren, Ellise, Willow, Story, Dodge, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Beckham; and his companion, Jeannine Peters of Warsaw.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons in infancy, Darrell and Dannie and two sisters, Lois Wynn and Dee Kriesler.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 30, 2021, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Shelby Barker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Dale, Frank Garrison, Carl Mounce, Kervin "Buzz" Miller, John Rinehart, Jim Coffland, Jack Shelledy, Richard Neumann, and Paul Albin.
