Bill Edward Hensley, 80, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at his home in Sedalia. He was born on April 29, 1943, in Harlan, KY, the son of James Gilbert Hensley and Hettie Walters, who preceded him in death.
On April 27, 1987, in Lawrenceville, GA, he was united in marriage to his soul mate Mary Joyce Hensley, who resides in the home.
Bill was a member of the Abundant Harvest Worship Center. He enjoyed tinkering with motors and building projects for his family as well as church members. He was a jack of all trades and loved mowing and carpentry. His favorite meal of the day was breakfast, and don't forget his coffee. He loved watching the weather. He was an excellent chauffeur to his wife. He was a sweet spirit with a loving heart and was loved by everybody.
Besides his wife, Bill is survived by a daughter, Dr. Carol Gayle and her husband, Bobby; sons, Jim Davis and his wife, Donna, Jerry Hensley and his wife, Nicole, Bill "BJ" Hensley and his wife, Joni; a stepson, Wyatt Shanks and his wife, Linda; a stepdaughter, Merry Kroeger and her husband, Tony; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, and sisters; and his cat, Miss Whiskers.
Besides his parents, Bill is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and his dogs, Skufy, Jake, and Sandy.
A celebration of life service will be held from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023, at the Abundant Harvest Worship Center, Sedalia.
Honorary bearers are Jim Davis, Jerry Hensley, Bill Hensley, Alex Kroeger, Ben Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Dalton Bartlett, Terry Clark, Gerald Huddleston, and David Wayne Pennington.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Abundant Harvest Worship Center, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Bothwell Regional Hospital, Dr. Kenneth Azan, and Dr. Nohaud Azan for their loving care of Bill.
