Betty L. Kennedy

Betty L. (Lahmeyer) Kennedy, 98, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at EW Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sedalia. She was born on November 20, 1925, in Little Rock, AR, the daughter of James S. Simon and Audrey M. (Ellis) Simon, who preceded her in death.

On December 9, 1947, in Wichita, KS, she was united in marriage to George L. Lahmeyer, who preceded her in death on November 29, 1975.

Survivors include three sons, Gary Lahmeyer, Brian Lahmeyer (Weike), and Brad Lahmeyer (Cheryl), all of Sedalia; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and other surviving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by a sister, June Bonner, and a brother, James S. Simon, Jr.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Crown Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Rea Funeral Chapel, prior to going to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Lahmeyer, Brian Lahmeyer, Brad Lahmeyer, Benjamin Lahmeyer, Brandon Lahmeyer, and Curtis Lahmeyer.

Arrangements are in the care of the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
