Betty Lee Jarrett, 91, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on June 19, 2024.
Born on September 15, 1932, in Jefferson City, MO. Betty was the daughter of Truitt and Nellie (née Grace) Woodson, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Jefferson City High School and attended Jefferson City Community College, where she earned a degree in business.
In 1962, Betty moved to Sedalia, which became her lifelong home. She worked for many years at Sedalia Middle School, initially as a teaching assistant and later as the principal's assistant.
Betty is survived by her two children, Stacey Klein (Jeff) of Smithton and Jeff Jarrett (Raul) of Kansas City; her three grandchildren, Taryn Byron (Derek), Tyler Klein (Ashley), and Tori Klein; three great-grandchildren and her long-time companion, Gary Cox. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Helmendach, who resides in Seneca, SC.
Betty will be remembered for her profound generosity and kindness, driven by a deep and sincere Christian faith. She will also be remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and a cherished companion who touched the lives of so many. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved her.
A special celebration of Betty's life, open to all family, friends, and community members, will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel, providing an opportunity for everyone to pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Child Safe of Central Missouri, a cause that was close to Betty's heart and one she supported during her lifetime. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
