Betty Jean Hartsfield, 71, of Smithton, MO, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Lincoln Community Care Center and Lakeside Suites in Lincoln, MO. She was born on October 14, 1952, in Jacksonville, FL, the daughter of Ernest Hartsfield and Fronnie (Sammons) Hartsfield, who preceded her in death.
Betty, a warm and compassionate soul, worked as an owner-operator over-the-road truck driver for 28 years. She found joy in the outdoors, scenic views, crossword puzzles, and writing poetry. But her heart truly belonged to her beloved dogs, Bruno and Precious.
Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Hazel (James) of Smithton, MO and Jeana Crawford (Daniel) of Georgia; a son, Justin Hartsfield (Gayla) of Texas; six grandchildren, Brandon, Cody (Adrena), Dalton, Heather (John), Sherry (Brian), and Bentley; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Angie Crawford (Noel) of Georgia; a brother, Ed Hartsfield of Georgia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Mizel, and a brother, Ernest Hartsfield, Jr.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Al Oetman officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
