Barbara A. (Chaney) Lackman, 85, of Sedalia passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Rest Haven Convalescent Home in Sedalia, MO. She was born on February 7, 1930, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Lyle Woods Bryan and Anna McNeil, who preceded her in death. On June 20, 1948, in Lincoln, MO she was united in marriage to Jamie Edward Chaney, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1986. On May 6, 1989, at the LaMonte United Methodist Church, she was united in marriage to Oliver "Ollie" Loyd Lackman, who preceded her in death on December 13, 2014. Barbara was a member of the Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church in Lake Ozark and a former member of the LaMonte Methodist Church. She was a member of the LaMonte American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 520 . She was an active member of the Lake Ozark Gideon Camp. Barbara was employed at Lamy's Manufacturing for 36 years retiring in 1992. She loved sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Barbara was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Survivors include a son, Dale (Kathy) Chaney of Warrensburg and a daughter, Laura Taylor of Sedalia; three step children, Karen (Dana) Thorsen of Knob Noster, Marvin (Janine) Lackman of Spring Lake, NC and Darius (Amy) Lackman of Lake Ozark, MO; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; a brother, John Bryan of Overland Park, KS. Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Chaney, a son-in-law, Danny Taylor, and a great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cory Casey and Rev. Gene Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at LaMonte Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lynn Chaney, Jamie Taylor, Will Perkins, Darius Lackman, Melvin Ficken, and Bill Decker. Honorary bearers will be Marvin and Aaron Lackman, Bill and Robert Bryan. Memorial contributions may be made to LaMonte United Methodist Church or to the Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church or to Cross Roads Hospice.
