Obituary For Barbara Joan Nicholson

Barbara Joan Nicholson, 84, of Jefferson City, MO, passed away Friday, August 03, 2018 at her home. She was born on September 15, 1933 in Ellendale, MN, the daughter of Andrew and Mildred (Livingston) Walker, who preceded her in death.

On December 2, 1951 in Sedalia, MO, she was united in marriage to Marvin L. Nicholson, who preceded her in death on March 28, 2001.

Barbara worked for Brown's Automotive, in Sedalia, as a book keeper and for the Army National Guard in Jefferson City. She enjoyed coaching her daughter's softball team and going to the dirt track races with her family. She will be mostly remembered for being a good mom, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by a son, Dean Nicholson (Jill) of Jefferson City, MO; a step grandson, Justin Englebrecht of Jefferson City, MO; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Phyllis Ream of Sedalia, MO.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Jenkins; a son, David Nicholson; one sister, Neva Williams; one brother, Gerald Walker; and a grandosn Matthew Bell.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dan Hankins officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will be at a later date in High Point Cemetery, Hughesville, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Therapy Center, Sedalia, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
