Aullnie J. Colvin, 87, of Sedalia passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 10, 2015 at Rest Haven, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 30, 1928 in Rocky Mount, MO the son of Clifford and Sophia Turpin-Colvin, who preceded him in death. Aullnie was dearly loved by his wife, Martha Colvin, who survives of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Jo Colvin; daughter, Debbie Karrick; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Bennie Montgomery; a sister, Annie Petree all of Sedalia; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janie Colvin; granddaughter, Muffy Colvin; and brother, Willie Colvin. He attended the Sedalia School district and in 1949, he joined the US Army and was stationed in Alaska as an engineer of heavy equipment. He was a sergeant before returning to Sedalia to marry his "only love" (as he would call it) Martha Ransdell on January 17, 1951. Aullnie was a contractor in the Sedalia area for over 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing solitaire. He loved to read his family the bible daily, that brought much peace and comfort to him. Most of all he enjoyed the family dinners when he had his children and grandchildren gathered around, just to hear their laughter and hear all the new things happening in their world. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A Memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with full military honors conducted by VFW Post 2591. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Honorary bearers will be Eddie Colvin, Andrew Colvin, Michael Karrick, Michael Arnett, Devin and Daniel Montgomery. A private family committal service will be held at a later date at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
