Arthur Blaine “Red” Turley, 81, of Sedalia passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Four Seasons Living Center, Sedalia. He was born on February 16, 1933 in Pueblo, CO a son of John and Alice (Knuth) Turley, who preceded him in death.
On April 25, 1951 in Baton, NM he was united in marriage to Julia (Tennis) Turley, who survives of Sedalia.
Red was owner/operator of Turley Brothers Welding and his own trash hauling business for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. He loved talking politics, watching Nascar, football, and Fox News. Red was a member of the Masonic Granite Lodge 236, AF&AM and Georgetown Methodist Church.
He is survived by four children, Randy W. Turley (Jo Lynn) of Sedalia, Susan M. Potts of Sedalia, Terry B. Turley of Smithton, and Troy N. Turley of Warrensburg; one sister, Aylsie G. Geier of Dayton, OH; two brothers, Alonzo H. Turley (Sandra) of Sedalia, and John N. Turley (Linda) of Centerview; ten grandchildren, Brandi, Andrew, Derek, Ryan, Austin, Blake, Evan, Kyle, Tara and Garrett; four great grandchildren; and his companion, Tina Cook of Green Ridge.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Madeline Goode and three brothers, Herbert, Timothy and Earl Turley.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Rev. Kenny Cripe officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
Burial will be at Smithton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Turley, Derek Miesner, Blake Potts, Austin Potts, Sean Steck, Eric Geier, Kyle Turley and Jason Davis.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice, in care of the funeral chapel.
