Obituary For Arnold Eugene "Jim" Peek

Arnold Eugene "Jim" Peek, 83, of Sedalia, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at his home in Sedalia, surrounded by family. He was born on August 10, 1940, in Cole Camp, MO, the son of Louis Priesmeyer and Nancy Peek, who preceded him in death.

On December 1, 1970, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Beulah Lee Mosier Booth, who resides in the home.

Jim worked for Schwans Frozen Foods for 19 years and retired as Warehouse Manager. He also worked at Swift Carriers in Sedalia for many years and owned several rental homes throughout Sedalia. He always enjoyed visiting with his tenants. Jim enjoyed raising cattle, coon and squirrel hunting, and had many dogs over the years.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by a step-son, Britt Booth and his wife Eva of Hughesville; a step-daughter, Gina Rogers of Sedalia; a daughter, Cheryl Nay and her husband Melvin of Englewood, TN; two adopted children, Jerry Anderson, of Sedalia, and Sherry Matz and her husband Craig of Sedalia; two grandchildren, Brandon and Kaleb Kelch; and two sisters and a brother.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sister.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with ministers Steve Marshall and Daniel Farris officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Honorary bearers will be Rick Schibi, Craig Matz, Brandon Kelch, Kaleb Kelch, Dennis Spinar, and Jerry Parker.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
