Alvin Lindell Edwards

Alvin Lindell Edwards, 81, of La Monte, MO, passed away June 9, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 6, 1940 in Urbana, MO the son of Alexander Edwards and Bessie (Fowler) Edwards, who preceded him in death.

On July 15, 1962, in Urbana, MO, he was united in marriage to Mary Suzanne Case, who resides in the home.

Alvin worked for Teamsters Union Local 41 in Sedalia and Kansas City retiring in 1995. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, camping, fishing, and traveling. Alvin especially loved spending time with his family and telling one more story.

Along with his wife, Alvin is survived by four daughters, Kathy Kemp (Dave) of Sedalia, Karen Nye (Mark) Stover, Karol Gamble of Alton, IL, and Elizabeth Green (Scott) of La Monte; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a special sister-in-law, Ann Edwards of Sedalia.

In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Edwards; four brothers; three sisters; a granddaughter, Simone Lutz.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Mike Green officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m until 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2022, at the Chapel.

A private graveside burial will be held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Urbana, MO, at a later time.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
