Terry L Yunt

Terry L. Yunt, 70, of Warrensburg passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 9, 2018, at Saint Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit, MO, after battling cancer for the past five years. He was born on November 11, 1947, in Norton, KS, the son of Harold "Pete" and Mildred (Gregory) Yunt Salecki, who preceded him in death. His family moved to Green Ridge when he was 3 years old, where he graduated from high school in 1965. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965-68 on a destroyer tender, and after returning home became a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 124, in 1970. He retired due to health issues in 2005.

On December 10, 1971 he married to Mary Clingan, and they had two daughters, Jessica and Jennifer. The family moved to Warrensburg, MO, in 1988, where Terry continued to be involved in supporting the girls' activities.

Terry enjoyed working and playing at Keth Memorial Golf Course; playing in his Union golf league; numerous golf/gambling trips with his wife and friends; and memorable family vacations.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; daughters, Jessica Thomas and Jennifer Howard (William); grandchildren Andersen and Alexa, all of Kansas City, MO; and a brother Larry Yunt of Sedalia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Tad Salecki.

A celebration of life visitation with family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia. Because Terry donated his body to the University Of Missouri Gift of Body program, inurnment will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Terry's name to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation or the Warrensburg Animal Shelter, but the very best way to remember and honor Terry's life is to vote Democratic.
