Sharon Judith Owen

Sharon Judith Owen, 75, of Sedalia, MO passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. She was born on September 6, 1942 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Edward and Fern (Foster) Heck, who preceded her in death.

On September 19, 1975 in Plainville, IL she was united in marriage to Jerry Owen, who survives of the home.

Sharon enjoyed history and reading. She especially enjoyed studying Messianic Judaism. Sharon had a life-long desire to be a nurse. At the age of 58 she graduated nursing school and began working as a Licensed Practical Nurse from which she recently retired. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren. She also liked to travel and watch the news with her husband.

Besides her husband of forty-three years, she is survived by her three children, Tracy Owen of Sedalia, Tod Owen of Sedalia, and William Owen of Hannibal, MO; five grandchildren, Shannon Jones (Jered) of Ramstein, Germany, Jared Owen (Jennifer) of Sedalia, Jeremy Owen, Brandon Owen, and Heather Owen, all three of Sedalia, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 17, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Dan Hankins and Paula Whiting, officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time..

Burial will be at Smithton Cemetery, Smithton, MO.

Pallbearers will be Jared Owen, Jered Jones, Kevin Klein, Joey Klein, Tyler Klein, and Tim Whittman.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
