Obituary For Ronnie Lyn Price

Ronnie Lyn Price, 61, of Sedalia, formerly of Moberly, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 at his home in Sedalia, MO surrounded by his family. He was born on January 12, 1958 in Moberly, MO the son of Kenneth Alvador and Ofa Juanita (Stogsdill) Price, who preceded him in death.

On June 9, 1981 in Sedalia, MO. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Linda Sue Price, who survives of the home.

Ronnie was born into a very large, close, loving, hardworking family. He adored his parents, 5 brothers, and 6 sisters. Ronnie spent his teenage years in Moberly, helping with his family’s milk hauling business. Eventually, that evolved into him, some of his brothers, and a brother-in-law becoming long-haul truck drivers. It was out on the road that he met Linda. She was working as a waitress at a truck stop and he said when he found her, he knew, ‘she was the love I needed.’

Ronnie and Linda welcomed two children into the world; first their daughter, Tonjya Lynn Price and then their son, Ronnie Lyn Price, Jr. They put their roots down in Sedalia, built a home and a business. He worked exceptionally hard and played a little harder. If he wasn’t on the road, you could find him in the shop, helping someone fix a vehicle, in a field hunting for deer, a poker table going all-in, in a bowling alley taking first place on a league with his dad and brothers in Moberly or just bowling for fun with his wife’s family in Sedalia. He was a family man through and through, they were the driving force behind everything he did. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for the ones he loved.

Ronnie’s door was always open and his phone always on. It was never a shock when a family member or three would show up in the middle of the night and it’s something he loved so much. He would always get up, start cooking, and join in on the fun. If you were ever struggling, you knew you could call him for help and he would be there with anything and everything he had, no matter the cost to him. To know Ronnie, was to know love, to feel safe in his presence, to witness strength and determination that you only read about in fairy tales, to laugh until you couldn’t breathe, and sometimes he’d argue with you just to make sure you were certain about the things you were taking a stand on. His knowledge was vast, and his wisdom ran deep.

He felt very fortunate to spend the last 12 years working for MPW Industrial Water. Starting as a truck driver, moving into field service, and then taking over the plant manager position in Sedalia. His greatest career achievement came when he was awarded the Salaried Employee of the Year for 2017 but said there’s no way he would have been able to achieve that if it weren’t for his team here in Sedalia. It’s with the help of the guys, he was able to work all the way up to the week of his death. He appreciated everything the company and his guys did for him.

Ronnie’s diagnosis came as a shock to everyone, but he did an incredible job of filling the last two years with happy memories, more laughter than pain, and enough love to soften the hurt on the bad days to come. It truly was the love for his family that kept him going during the biggest fight of his life with terminal cancer. His strength was insurmountable, his courage noble, his love unconditional, and his Faith unwavering. He will be deeply missed by every life he touched.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, daughter, and son. His grandsons, Brenden, Breven, and Braden Price; Dante and Mathayus Price; his great-granddaughter Brylee Price; his siblings; Pam(Fred) Bollman, Denny(Linda Kempker) Price, Kathy(Randy) Bench, David(Virginia) Price, Danny(Beth) Price, Kennita Price, DeeDee(Robbie) Hendren, Cindy Price, Kenneth “Buddy”(Toni) Price, Rebecca(David) DeMay, Kirby(Brandy West) Price; sister-in-laws, Diana(James) Schrader, Michelle(Mike Woodward) DeMay-Embree, and brother-in-law Robert DeMay, and over 200 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda Price; a grandson, Bracken Price; his in- laws, Dave and Barbara DeMay; two nephews, Toby Ketchem and Kenny Gayle Price; two nieces, Amanda Ketchem and Jessie Price; a great-niece, Jamie Price; a great-great nephew, Grayson Prather; and his grandson’s mother, Sheena Crawford.
