Rhoda Maxine Newman

Rhoda Maxine Newman, 90, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. She was born on March 5, 1928 in Saline County, MO, the daughter of David and Marie (Chapman) Hinton, who preceded her in death.

On April 29, 1947 in Marshall, MO, she was united in marriage to Marion "Jack" Newman, who preceded her in death.

She loved researching genealogies, scapbooking, reading, working in her yard, and visiting with friends. She worked for Lamy Manufacturing for thirty-three years. She liked to make people laugh and smile. She was a hard worker and a very giving person and loved children. She made a deep impact on the lives of many children who she helped to raise over the years. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Sue Burch (Perry) of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Cindy Schulte (Rob) of Kansas City, Katrina Burch, Andrea Smith (Brandon), and Charles Wise, all of Sedalia; eight great grandchildren, Caleb Sell, Mackenzie Burch, Brandon Smith Jr., Haylee Smith, Chase Smith, Grayce Shaw, Charles Shaw, and Pearse Smith; nieces Marta Kelley and Linda Bennett, and great-nephew James Bennett.

Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deanna Wise; brother, Robert Wayne Hinton; and sister, Juanita Talbot.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO with Rev. Dan Hankins officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.

Burial will be at Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall, MO.

Pallbearers will be Charles Wise, Caleb Sell, Rob Schulte, Brandon Smith, Chase Smith, and Jerry Shull.

Honorary bearers will be Sterling Howard, Dennis Shull, Jimmie Wise, Perry Burch, Jamie Bennett, and Randy Kelley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Department at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
