Phyllis Marie Lees

Phyllis Marie Lees, 76, of Sedalia, MO passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Kansas City Hospice House. She was born on July 19, 1943 in Trinidad, CO the daughter of Geronimo and Victoria (Hurtado) Ornelas, who preceded her in death.

On March 26, 1965 in Kansas City, MO she was united in marriage to Donald E Lees, who preceded her in death.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, going to garage sales, and fishing. She especially love spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include five children, Ricky Trujillo of Lamar, CO, Patricia Strohmeier (William) of Sedalia, Vita Poppinga of Huger, SC, Donald Lees. JR of Silverton, CO, Jerry Lees (Elaine) Kansas City, MO; four siblings, Max Ornles of Columbia, MO, Mercy Miramontes (Armando) Lamar, CO, Michael Ornelas (Theresa) of Ft. Lupton, CO, and Sheila May Smith (Glenn) of Las Animas, CO; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO with Gary Huddleston, officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Lees, Sabrina Lees, Mariann Davis, Jeremy Lees, Elaine Lees, Kevin Bisby, and Brian Chappell.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
