Obituary For Mary Allison Smith

Mary Allison Smith, 82, of Marshall, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2018 at University Hospital in Columbia. She was born on February 20, 1936 in Nelson, MO, a daughter of Eugene and Rose (Gramlich) Waller, who preceded her in death.

On September 14, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald Lee Smith, Sr., who preceded her in death on September 1, 2017.

Mary worked along side her husband "Poe" on the farm running the tractor, bailing hay, and working cattle. Mary especially enjoyed gardening and raising her baby calves.

Survivors include a son, Donald L. Smith, Jr. and his wife Karen of Marshall, MO; a daughter, Rose Ann Darr of Rural Carthage, MO; three grandchildren, Chad Smith of Marshall, MO, Stephanie Workman of Neosho, MO, and Michelle Darr of Joplin, MO; three great grandchildren, Avery Parker, Emery Workman, and Daxon Skief; three brothers, Elwood Waller, Wendell Waller, and Gary Waller all of Nelson, MO; and three sisters, Marge Redman of Jefferson City, MO, Wanda Smith of Nelson, MO, and Doris Root of Blackwater, MO

In addition to her husband Donald and her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Waller.

Honoring Mary's request, there will be a simple committal and burial service at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Miller's Chapel Cemetery in Heath Creek Township, north of Sedalia, with Rev. Dan Hankins officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Miller's Chapel Cemetery in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
