Obituary For Jama Bell

Jama D. Bell, 84, of Sedalia passed away September 2, 2019 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia, MO. She was born on March 9, 1935 in Waynesville, MO the daughter of Thelma R. Ross, who preceded her in death.

On October 8, 1955 in Mission, KS she was united in marriage to Jimmy Bell, who resides in Sedalia.

Jama was a member of Maplewood Church. She worked as an LPN for Sedalia #200 School District, Bothwell Regional Health Center, and at different Geriatric Facilities. Jama loved gardening, flowers, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Janice Crosby and her husband Greg of Iowa City, IA; a grandson, Josh Crosby and his wife Tarah of Wichita, KS; a sister, Edie Mattson and her husband Bruce, of Ridgedale, MO; and a half brother, John Ponton of Olathe, KS.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Bell.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bob Wauchope officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Greg Crosby, Josh Crosby, Steve Sumner, Keith Sumner, Bruce Mattson, and John White.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Lawrence W. Bell Scholarship fund at Missouri University of Science and Technology in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
