Obituary For Everett Lee Ward

Everett Lee Ward, 90, of Sedalia passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO. He was born on October 26, 1928 in Jasper, MO a son of Francis Paul and Hazel (Chitwood) Ward, who preceded him in death.

On August 23, 1953 in Ironton, MO he was united in marriage to Donna June Kimmell, who resides in the home.

Lee was a member of First Baptist Church, Sedalia. He received a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri in 1958 and worked in commercial construction for many years, retiring in1994. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy from 1948 until 1952. Lee was an avid reader. He enjoyed traveling with his family and loved gardening. He was devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Linda Ahrens (Charles) of Sedalia; two sons, Scott Ward (Teresa) of Nixa, MO and James Ward (Marisa) of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer, Curtis, Katy, Meghan, Nikki, and Patrick; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Frances Weber of Gainesville, FL.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Junior Ward; and a sister, Martha Kathrine Newcom.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Sedalia with Pastor Glenn Sparks and Pastor Chris Gray officiating.

Military honors will be conducted by the Kansas City Navy Reserve Honors Team at the First Baptist Church.

Burial will be held at Arcadia Valley Cemetery, Arcadia, MO at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Sedalia, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
