Obituary for Charles Daniel Ballah

Charles Daniel Ballah, 85, of Sedalia, MO passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at his home. He was born on May 30, 1933 in Kaw City, OK the son of John and Lucille (Cooper) Ballah, who preceded him in death.

Daniel graduated from Green Ridge High School and Central Missouri State University. He served honorably in the US Air Force and then in the Air Force Reserves and National Guard. Daniel worked on aircraft sheet metal and worked for the IRS and as a delivery truck driver. He was a proud member of the La Monte American Legion and VFW Post #2591.

Daniel never met a stranger and was a KC Chief’s fan. He liked to attend auctions and go to the Missouri State Fair. He was a member of Green Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher. Daniel had a gentle spirit and a great sense of humor.

Besides his wife Mona, survivors include his son, John Ballah of Kansas City; sister, Susie Ballah Ryan of Basehor, KS; and step-daughters, Pat Bisby and Penny Peppindick, both of Jefferson City.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Edward Ballah and infant siblings, John Leroy and Margaret Lilly Ballah.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Rev. John Streit officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.

Burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post #520 and the United States Air Force.

Pallbearers will be members of the La Monte American Legion Post #520.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Green Ridge Baptist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
