Obituary For Almeda Ann Taylor

Almeda Ann Taylor, 75, of Sedalia MO, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Bothwell Regional Health Center surrounded by family and friends.

Almeda was born on June 4th, 1944 in Sedalia, MO. She was the daughter of John Washington and Viola (Frazier) Simms, who both preceded her in death.

Almeda graduated from Lincoln C. C. Hubbard Senior High school in 1962 and went on to marry her soulmate Willie W. Taylor in 1965. During their marriage, Almeda and Willie were stationed at various locations in the United States and overseas. Almeda devoted much of her life to helping children through childcare and school services. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them at celebrations and family events. She also enjoyed making ceramics. Almeda accepted Christ as her savior and was a member and Mother of Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Almeda leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Carla Williams of Sedalia, MO and two sons, Jeffery and Randy Taylor, also of Sedalia, MO; one sister, Kathryn Kent of Hillside, NJ; brother-in-law, Charles taylor (Carmen Taylor), and sister-in-law, Regina Taylor (Wilbur Taylor) all of sedalia; nine grandchildren, Lionel, Dominique, Jasmine, Celeste, Lavell, Danielle, Desmond, Deyonah, and Brooklyn; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Taylor; one sister, Eddie Mae Cole; and six brothers, Marshall Simms, Lincoln Moody, Bert Moody, John Simms, Bobby Simms, and Earl Wayne Simms.

From her birth to her death she nourished people around her with love, faith, and humor.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Bishop Paul Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.

Burial will be at Crown Hill, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Cornellius Bentley, Leon Williams, Fredrick Gilmore, Ronnie Boggs, Jeffery Boggs, Dale Boggs.

Honorary bearers are Diane Clark, Katie Briscoe, Christine Briscoe, Earl D. Scroggins, and her Classmates of 1962.

The Family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, and acts of kindness.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
